Tues 5 – Sat 9 November 2019

Erdington Operatic Society has chosen this show for its 2019 production. The multi-award winning Society has been presenting shows in the local area since it was formed 1958 and is the leading exponent of the works of Gilbert and Sullivan in the region.

The Yeomen of the Guard tells a tale of passion, intrigue and mistaken identity set at the Tower of London in Tudor times and the powerful story is accompanied by a glorious musical score containing some of Sullivan’s most famous and best-loved songs and ensembles. Included in these are, “I Have a Song to Sing, O!”, “Were I Thy Bride”, “Is Life a Boon?”, “Strange Adventure” and “Oh! A Private Buffoon!”

Both Gilbert and Sullivan always considered this show to be their best work and EOS has assembled a highly-talented cast for its traditional presentation which will be accompanied by a full orchestra. It will provide wonderful entertainment for an Autumn evening.
