Royal Sutton Coldfield Orchestra is 50!  Come and help us celebrate at a special anniversary gala concert packed with classical favourites, music from stage and screen, plus a celebratory new work for trumpet and orchestra.

We’ll play selections from Pirates of the Caribbean, West Side Story and Jurassic Park, and themes to the Magnificent Seven and 633 Squadron among others.  Shostakovich’s Festive Overture sets the scene and music by Saint-Saëns and Debussy features.  The centrepiece is a brand new Trumpet Concerto from composer (and orchestra president), Robert Ramskill, noted for his jazzy rhythms and catchy melodies.  Award-winning trumpeter Steve Lee, who has played with the Royal Shakespeare Company, Onyx Brass and English Symphony Orchestra, is the soloist.  Finally, Marquez’s sultry Latin American Danzon No 2 winds up to create a grand finale to a thrilling evening.

Don’t miss this chance to join the celebrations and support your local orchestra – Royal Sutton Coldfield Orchestra – we’d love to see you there.
