Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Hall has been run by a registered charity since 2016 - The Royal Sutton Coldfield Community Town Hall Trust.

With a small operations staff team complimented by volunteer support, as an entertainment venue and community hub, we house touring shows, comedy, community theatre, weddings and corporate events throughout the year, as well as a popular annual pantomime.

Marketing Assistant 

We’re looking for a creative Marketing Assistant to support the Marketing Executive in delivering Sutton Coldfield Town Hall’s communications, campaigns and audience engagement activity. 

This is an ideal opportunity for an early-career candidate looking to gain hands-on experience across social media, email marketing, digital content, and arts marketing within a busy charitable venue. 

You’ll play a key role in helping us grow visibility, support event promotion, and maintain consistent brand presence across our channels.  

 

Part-time 0.6 FTE | 24 hours per week (3 days a week, on-site) 

£12.71 per hour

Key responsibilities: 

  • Support the day-to-day management of social media channels and community engagement 

  • Assist with creating and scheduling content for social media and the website 

  • Help track and report on social media performance to inform marketing strategy, and compiling quarterly analytics reports 

  • Support the creation and scheduling of email marketing campaigns 

  • Liaise with production companies and visiting promoters regarding print and marketing assets 

  • Maintain internal signage and ensure promotional materials are up to date 

  • Manage venue digital screens and email banner systems 

  • Assist with maintaining sponsor branding across agreed materials 

  • Provide general marketing and campaign support across venue projects and festivals 

 

We’re looking for someone who is: 

  • A strong written and verbal communicator 

  • Confident creating social media content (graphics, captions, basic video) 

  • Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple tasks 

  • Creative, with a good eye for design and brand consistency 

  • Interested in the arts, culture and/or charity sector 

Experience with platforms such as Canva, Mailchimp and Squarespace is desirable but not essential. We’re happy to support training and development for the right candidate.

Unpaid Opportunity:

Young Photography Opportunity - feature in an exhibition

Do you have a passion for photography? Are you looking to gain experience working in live music and theatre events? Do you want your work to be featured in a photography exhibition?

We want you!

We’re looking for young photographers (ages 16-25) to join us and be part of our upcoming exhibition, ‘Town Hall: Through the Eyes of the Next Generation’. This exhibition will take place 12th-13th September 2026 at Sutton Coldfield Town Hall as part of our Literary Arts Festival. The festival will celebrate literature, theatre and music craft through performances, talks and workshops.

How it works…

  • Register your interest by emailing alex.norman@suttoncoldfieldtownhall.com with your name, a little about you and why you’d like to take part.

  • We will then contact all young photographers (date TBC) with a list of events, and it will be first come first serve to choose which event you’d like to photograph. There will only be space for x1 young photographer per event.

  • On the day of your event, you will be granted access to photograph this event - be as creative as possible, but remember to respect the performers, crew, and paying audience.

  • You’ll then submit your BEST 5 images to us, and we will select which image(s) to include in the exhibition.

  • ALL participants will have their work featured in the exhibition.

Please note: we are unfortunately unable to provide equipment for this opportunity.
