Sustainability at Sutton Coldfield Town Hall

The climate crisis is at a crucial point in which we all need to adapt our habits and practices to protect the future of the planet. Here at the Town hall, we have a responsibility to implement sustainable strategies into the way we operate as a venue and arts hub. As Bronze Greengage Award holders, we are working towards achieving our Silver and Gold Awards by further improving our practices. Our current sustainable strategies

From the bar…

We have replaced single-use, disposable plastic cups with polycarbonate cups for all our events, that are washed and reused.

To tickets…

We are encouraging all guests to use e-tickets, by booking online or providing us with an email to send tickets to. This is to reduce the amount of paper that is wasted.

To transport…

With the construction of our new path that will link our venue directly to Sutton Coldfield Train Station, our venue is becoming more accessible. We hope that more guests will opt to travel by train or on foot.

Whilst we are proud of the work we are doing to reduce our impact on the environment, we are always looking to make further improvements at Sutton Coldfield Town Hall.

We currently hold a Bronze Greengage Award, which recognises that we are on the road to becoming a greener venue, and we are actively improving our processes to do so. To work towards our Silver and Gold Awards, we are working closely with some incredible organisations to discover new and exciting initiatives that will make our venue more sustainable - benefitting everyone, and the planet.

Ideas are also welcome - if you are an individual or an organisation that understands our vision to become a more eco-conscious venue, we would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions on ways that we can improve.

Please contact Alex at alex.norman@suttoncoldfieldtownhall.com to discuss further.

To keep our venue green, we rely on your continued support - whether this be by considering a more sustainable mode of transport to our shows and events, switching to e-tickets, or donating to us. Click here to donate to the Town Hall.

Did you know we are a charity?

The Town Hall is entirely operated and ran by The Royal Sutton Coldfield Community Town Hall Trust, which is also a registered charity (1165712). Our principal objective is to provide and care for our facilities, giving a platform for entertainment, education, community and leisure activities and through this, improve the quality of life for the residents of Sutton Coldfield and its surrounding areas. Our green space, accessed via Upper Clifton Road, can only be maintained through your support.

Restore, Improve and Modernise:

The strategic ambition of the Trust is to restore, improve and modernise this unique heritage landmark to create a truly dynamic, modern, accessible inclusive and vibrant destination that serves the town of Sutton Coldfield, the north Birmingham area, and the wider region. Being more eco-friendly is at the core of this ambition.

How You Can Help:

Becoming a friend or sponsor of Sutton Coldfield Town Hall will mean you are contributing to your community, by allowing cultural activities to not only thrive, grow but also expand the inclusivity and accessibility for your local people, by being a part of helping to develop a multi-purpose community-led cultural, arts and performance hub, whilst upholding the heritage landmark of the building itself.
