In the time that has elapsed since Sutton Coldfield Arts and Recreational Charitable Trust began managing the Town Hall, we have seen the building come to life, our diaries for 2018 and 2019 are filling up and we are looking busier than ever. In this sense the Trust has, through your support, helped serve as something of a managerial pacemaker to this beautiful if not slightly dated building.
However, the challenge of managing a historic building – the original structure of which dates back to 1865(!) – is that gradually walls have become chipped, pipework is worn and little things such as these invariably all amount to high running costs that threaten to undermine the progress we have made so far. We are working hard to restore the Town Hall both from a business perspective as well as aesthetically to give you all a venue you can be proud of and continue to enjoy for the coming years and beyond.
After each of the upcoming events at the Town Hall there will be members of staff in the foyer with collection buckets exclusively for the Sutton Coldfield Town Hall Restoration Fund. All money raised will go towards repairs to the Town Hall from fresh licks of paint to updating toilet facilities, from an efficient and fully operational heating system to backstage improvements for our theatrical societies and other stage shows. Together we hope we will continue to prove that the Town Hall’s heart is nowhere near done beating yet!
Please do keep an eye out for the donation buckets when you come to the Town Hall. Any donations, small or large, are truly appreciated. Once again we would like to thank you for continuing to support Sutton Coldfield Town Hall.
